Woodland Open Day
In September, we hosted a successful open day in partnership with the Forestry Commission, welcoming members of the public to explore the newly established woodland. The event provided an opportunity for visitors to walk through the site, learn about the aims of the project, and see first-hand how the woodland is developing. Representatives from the Forestry Commission were on hand throughout the day to answer questions and share expert knowledge.
A key focus of the open day was explaining the woodland creation grant process. Attendees were able to ask detailed questions about eligibility, application steps, and long-term management requirements. This proved particularly valuable for landowners and community members interested in undertaking similar projects.
The open day encouraged open discussion, knowledge sharing, and greater understanding of sustainable woodland creation. Overall, the event helped strengthen connections between the Forestry Commission and the local community, while promoting awareness of environmental initiatives and funding opportunities.
